Psychotherapy Policies

After our initial meeting, we will schedule a weekly time that is reserved just for you. Every effort will be made to reschedule appointments when enough notice is given, however less than 24 hours notice results in a charge for the missed session.

I am in-network with Cigna, and am an out-of-network provider with many other insurance plans. I will be glad to provide you with a receipt to receive out-of-network benefits with your insurance provider. You will need to check with your insurance provider for the details of your coverage. When contacting your provider be sure to ask the following questions:

  • Do I have out-of-network coverage for mental health?
  • Do you cover the LCAT license (Licensed Creative Arts Therapist)?
  • What is my out of pocket payment before my deductible is met?
  • What percentage of the fee for each visit will be covered?
  • How many visits are covered per calendar year?

I will be happy to help you understand your insurance benefits and can speak with your insurance company if needed. Please let me know if you need help with this.

A note about insurance: The benefit of not using your insurance is that your psychotherapy treatment is fully your own and completely confidential. It will be determined by you and me with no restrictions from your insurance company. In addition, a mental health diagnosis will not have to be added to your permanent health records.’

Contents of all therapy sessions are considered to be confidential. Both verbal information, art
work and written records about a client cannot be shared with another party without the written consent of the client or the client’s legal guardian. Noted exceptions are when there is suspected child abuse or neglect, or when an individual threatens serious harm to self or others.
